Selective Pick-and-Place of Thin Film by Robotic Micromanipulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Micro-engineering is increasingly interested in the use of thin films with thicknesses of less than 20nm. Before integrating these promising materials into complex Nano Electro Mechanical Systems (NEMS), their properties must be characterized. They must be transferred onto specific substrates for analysis. Current manipulation techniques are not suitable for the transfer of these thin films as they do not allow selection of the parts of the object that must be manipulated, and the quality of the sample is altered by traces of chemical residues. To perform the transfer of a selected thin film without modifying its properties, this paper presents a novel approach based on local gluing. This method has been validated by experiments performed on graphite films. Successful transfers of thin films of 4.2 × 4.7 μm2 to 70 × 12 μm2 with an estimated thickness of between 10 and 40 layers have been demonstrated. Limits of this technique are discussed.

The most commonly used method for the production of thin films is based on deposition of atoms or molecules onto a solid surface. One of the suitable method is to produce high quality metallic, semiconductor and organic thin film is Ionized cluster beam deposition (ICBD), which are used in electronic, robotic, optical, optoelectronic devices. Many important factors such as cluster size, cluster...
متن کاملSingle Cell Deposition and Patterning with a Robotic System
Integrating single-cell manipulation techniques in traditional and emerging biological culture systems is challenging. Microfabricated devices for single cell studies in particular often require cells to be spatially positioned at specific culture sites on the device surface. This paper presents a robotic micromanipulation system for pick-and-place positioning of single cells. By integrating co...

Several novel composite membranes were prepared to separate and recycle amoxicillin from pharmaceutical wastewater via nanofiltration process. The synthesis of these membranes included three stages: 1- preparation of polysulfone ultrafiltration membranes as a support via phase separation process, 2- modification of its surface by interfacial polymerization as a selective layer (polyamide), and ...
متن کاملThe Potential of Nanoparticles for Upgrading Thin Film Nanocomposite Membranes – A Review
Over the past decade, many applications were intended for filtration by membrane technology especially the thin film composite (TFC) membranes. In advanced developments of thin film membranes, an attempt was made to spread a new generation of membranes called thin film nano composite (TFN) membranes. However, in the last generation of TFNs, an ultrathin selective film of nanoparticles is coated...
